S.C.O.R.E is an intermediate sanction facility operated
in a collaborative effort between the CSCD and the Collin County Sheriff's
Office. The program focuses on addressing offenders specific criminogenic
needs (needs related to criminal behavior) in order to increase their
abilities to successfully complete supervision.
The program services offenders who meet the following
criteria:
- Non-Violent Offenses (please call for pre-authorization)
- Age 17 and Older
- No Sexual Offenses
- Physically Capable of Working (less physically demanding work is available)
The S.C.O.R.E Evolution
Throughout the years of addressing criminal behavior,
there have been many questions regarding our efforts to lower recidivism
rates. Collin County CSCD in conjunction with the Collin County Sheriff's
Department has developed a new and better way to educate criminal offenders.
This program teaches offenders, through experiential and educational techniques,
how to make better life decisions. The concept is based on HABILITATION
rather than REHABILITATION. We believe that many offenders continue
to re-offend due to never having known any other lifestyle. The S.C.O.R.E.
program incorporates many educational topics to ensure exposure to better
life skills and self-awareness.
