Limited Court Filings in Collin County 2/28-3/3/2008
(McKINNEY, Texas) – District and County Clerks will be unable to accept some civil court filings in Collin County Thursday, Feb. 28 through Monday, March 3, 2008, as the county converts to a new court management computer system.
The Collin County District Clerk’s Civil and Family Sections, and the Collin County Clerk’s Civil Section will limit court filings to emergency filings only during this period. The new system is scheduled to be up and running on Tuesday, March 4.
Criminal, Juvenile and Child Support sections of these offices will remain open for business during the changeover.
Here is a brief schedule of when certain office will begin limiting filings:
Access for emergency filings in the Civil/Family area of the District Clerk’s Office and Civil area of the County Clerk’s Office will be allowed only after the attorney or party obtains approval from a District Court (the 296th District Court) or the County Court at Law administrative judge.
Both clerks’ offices ask for patience during the changeover, and apologize for any inconvenience during the two-day downtime. The new system, however, allows both District and County to better serve the legal community and public for years to come.
