MEDIA ADVISORY - Check Presentations
(McKinney, TX) – The Collin County Healthcare Foundation will
award grants to two clinics on Thursday, October 23rd, in Plano. The Collin
County Adult Clinic and the Plano Children’s Medical Clinic will receive $50,000
each to assist with services.
The first check presentation is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Collin County Adult
Clinic, 1100 W. 15th Street (located on the SW corner of Alma and 15th). The
adult clinic, which opened in March, provides services to indigent and underinsured
adults who are unable to pay for healthcare. The grant funding will allow the
clinic to continue its efforts in providing services to those in need.
The second check presentation is scheduled for approximately 6 p.m. at the Plano
Children’s Medical Clinic, 1407 14th Street. Grant funding will, among other
things, provide additional assistance with the purchase and operational expenses
of a mobile unit, which will assist with the clinic’s outreach efforts throughout
the county.
Members of the Collin County Commissioners Court serve as trustees to the healthcare
foundation, which was created with proceeds from the sale of the county hospital
and provides funds for indigent healthcare. Earlier this year, the foundation
announced it would provide $100,000 in grant funding to assist with those community
organizations that provide healthcare for indigent patients.
