Graduation 2008 A Success!
(McKINNEY, Texas) -- Project Graduation,
the safe alternative to celebrating graduation from high
school for the McKinney ISD schools, was a huge success
last Friday night. Though the numbers haven't yet been
finalized, it looks like more than 1,000 graduates,
along with over 300 adult volunteers helping out,
not to mention a number of generous sponsors, came
together at Myers Park for a most excellent all-night party.
Besides the fun, games and food, prizes
were handed out: the grand prize Nissan Sentra was awarded
to Caroline Cloutier, an MHS student. In addition, eight
$500 cash prizes, twenty $100 cash prizes, 440 $50 cash
door prizes and more than 250 other cash and donated prizes
went to the graduate attendees, with a total value of
over $130,000. And every attendee went home with prize
envelopes with over $60 worth of free items included.
