Third Annual Preservation Celebration Honors Collin
County Historical Preservationists and Educators
Partnering with the National Trust for Historic Preservation,
the Collin County Commissioners Court and Historical Commission will host their
third annual “Preservation Celebration & Awards Ceremony: A Gold Ribbon Event” on
Saturday, May 2nd, at the Frisco Heritage Center.
Though the Preservation Celebration is an invitation-only event,
we are inviting anyone in or outside Collin County to participate now in the celebration
of excellence in historic preservation by nominating those individuals and organizations
you believe are most deserving of an award.
To nominate someone for one of this year’s historic
preservation or education awards, please go to the 2009
Preservation Celebration Awards criteria and nomination form. Help
us honor and recognize the deserving individuals, organizations, businesses
and agencies that have enriched our lives and communities through historic
tourism programs, historic preservation projects, and/or historical education.
Please complete one form per nominee. Nominations are due by Wednesday,
April 22nd. Mail the completed form to: Collin County Historical Commission,
Awards Committee, c/o Larry Collins, 281 Farms Road, McKinney, Texas,
75071, or e-mail to lcollins@ccccd.edu.
Please note that all awardees and nominees will be
honored and recognized at the event, as each and every one is truly
deserving of recognition. Participation in the nominations process is
vital to the important business of promoting the socioeconomic benefits
of preservation and to continue documenting and preserving our county’s
unique historical assets for the benefit of all our citizens.
