Collin County’s District Courts Are Models of Efficiency
Don't
let anyone warn you that the wheels of justice grind slowly
and are inconsiderate to the needs of citizens… at
least in Collin County. In fact, the latest statistics of
disposed civil cases in all Texas counties show that our local
district courts are quite responsive, in sharp contrast to
stereotypic beliefs.
This is how Collin County’s district
courts compare to elsewhere in Texas for civil case disposal
for the time period from September 2007 to the end of August
2008:

Only 11% of civil cases in Collin County district courts
take over 1 year to be disposed (compared to 29% statewide),
whereas we resolve 69% of civil cases under 6 months (versus
50% statewide). And with the addition of the brand new
429th District Court, our local justice system shouldn’t
be falling behind even with our fast population growth.
So here in Collin County you can not only depend on getting
a fair shake, but a prompt one as well.
