Law enforcement career began in 1962 as a Deputy Sheriff for Collin County.
Served as Chief Deputy for two sheriffs (J.S. (Red) Hand and George W. Smith).
Appointed by District Judge Tom Ryan to serve as Adult Probation Officer for Collin County.
Appointed as Constable Precinct 1 by Commissioners Court in 1979.

Served as lobbyist for the Justice of the Peace and Constable's Association for 16 years.
Served on the Board of Directors for the Texas Association of Counties in 1983 and 1995.
President of the Justice of the Peace and Constable's Association in 1992.
Awards and Recognition
Chosen as Constable of the Year 1997 by the Justice of the Peace and Constable's Association.
Received the T. A. Vines Award in 2003 which is presented to a Justice of the Peace or Constable in the State of Texas in recognition of Outstanding Performance to their Office and the State.
